Mark ,from the Colombian underground, I wait that you are well.
When I hear Impetigo almost suffer a trauma...you are the most genial
grind band...the music is really heavy and sick and the intros very
original, insanes...for me the great band of the year. I read about
IMPETIGO in "Grind Gore" Zine (Canada) No.4. Well my friend I
would like than your band IMPETIGO appear in the next issue #3,
Like IMPETIGO is a band of recognition in the world scene that issue
will be deadly, the #2 is out in Spanish & English for all sick fans
around all over the world
can enjoy.
Tell us about about Impetigo's beginning?
Well Stevo : bass/vocals and Mark (me) -guitar, formed the band
in July of 1987, soon after that we got Danny on drums and we did our
live demo "All we need is Cheese" and then in February of 1989
we added Scotty as a 2nd. guitarist and we did our studio demo
"Giallo", this got us our deal with Wild Rags for our LP
"Ultimo Mondo Cannibale", its out now and soon we'll record
for our 2nd.LP
Talk about your L.P "Ultimo Mondo
Cannibale?
Well it has 16 songs on it, full color cover and lyrics with it¡
It was done in a 16 track studio and we did all of the songs from the
"Giallo" demo as well as a lot of new songs and some old
reworked ones too- its the best stuff we're put out yet¡ Its a really
heavy sick bloody LP only for those people into the most extreme types
of music and not for the wimps¡¡ Its

torture¡¡
Your personal opinion concerning to grindcore?
I really enjoy it, it's one of the best things to happen in
music, it really gave thrash metal a hard kick in the ass when it needed
it must, the aggression and speed are incredible, some people say its
not original but fuck that, it's sick , brutal and heavy so who give a
fuck if it's original¡
What
are your favorites bands and influences?
There are the same of course and they are : Repulsion, Carcass,
Master, Entombed, Deceased, Macabre, Napalm Death, Nocturnus, Obituary,
Deicide, Cancer, Autopsy, Paradise Lost, Morbid Angel, Terrorizer,
Dismember, Goreaphobia, Pungent Stench, Benediction, Cannibal Corpse,
Atrocity, Hellhammer, Carnage, Revenant, Blasphemy, Nuclear Death and
many more¡¡¡ anything heavy and brutal¡¡¡
Tale us of the new record?
Well there is not a lot to tell on it, yet as we still need to
write half the songs for it, we are still thinking up the title and
artwork¡ It will be recorded in august and hopefully it will be out by
October, it'll be on Wild Rags again and it'll be just as sick and weird
as our 1st. LP with cool intros and intense death¡¡
About your live Activities?
Well we play in a couple of days with Repulsion and Radiation
Sickness, it's our first show in 9 months because the death grind
scene here is very weak and dead¡ When we play live it's fucking sick
and noisy with lots of energy and movement and Stevo usually says and
does

something weird or sick like spitting fake blood¡¡
What would you like to say to another starting
band?
Good luck, just don't get discouraged in the beginning, stick
with it and always try to get some decent quality recordings out
regularly so people don't forget you¡ Send lots of free stuff out to
zines and always answer your mail because it will pay off in the long
run¡ It's very important to work hard and make sacrifices¡
What
know about the scene of Colombia?
I know of the great bands Masacre, Pirokinessis and Vomit and
also a lot of cool people like your doing fanzines. I get quite a few
letters from Colombia now so the scene must be pretty strong there¡¡¡
Keep it heavy¡
What is your opinion over the actual situation of
Colombia?
Well I'm sorry for bushes "war on drugs" , it only hurt
the lives of people in your country and didn't do shit¡ I wish the best
for economic situation to improve there but I hope you will all keep
going and stay into grind death¡¡ Never give up but I guess its
easier for me to say it since I don't live there¡¡¡
