We are satisfied with every recording, because for this time when we record it, it was the best we could do. O.K., the sound of the first LP/CD "A touch of medieval darkness" could be a little bit better. I also think that on "Stormbringer" sound and layout was much better than on the first LP/CD. I don’t know how much copies were sold. I’m not really interested in that. It’s not important for us to know how much we sell. We want to play music and when other metalfreaks think that DESASTER – music was good, it’s really great for us!!! 3.I HAVE READ THAT YOUR NEXT CD WILL BE OUT AT THE END OF SUMMER ON THE MERCILESS REC. TELL ME MORE ABOUT IT, AND HOW IS THE RELATION WITH THE LABEL? Volker from Merciless Records is a good friend to us. We are very good satisfied with him. There is only one thing what is not good. He’s very slow!! But he is a real Metalmaniac and that’s the reason why we signed to Merciless Rec. I hope that our new CD/LP will come out at the end of September. We go for ten days into studio at the beginning of June. Our new songs are a good mixture between Black, Thrash and Medieval elements, nothing new. Only what Metalfans expect from DESASTER. REAL: PURE TRADITIONAL BLACK METAL NOTHING ELSE!! 4.HOW ARE YOUR CONCERT? YOU ENJOY PLAYING LIVE AND WHAT’S THE REACTIONS OF THE PEOPLE WHEN THEY HEAR YOUR MUSIC? HAS DESASTER PLAYED OUTSIDE GERMANY? We love to play live. It’s great to stand on the stage and play in front of the audience. It’s like an orgasm!!! We have no special show or something else. Only what is right for a metalband:BANG THAT HEAD THAT DOESN’T BANG!!! And I think that the audience recognize that we are a real metalband! But we want to play more in other countries. It’s great to go to other lands, see other metalmaniacs, to test other beer (but I think the best beer is the german beer!!) and fuck with other girls! Ha ha ha! O.K. it was a joke! 5.FROM WHICH BANDS IS YOUR MUSIC INSPIRATED AND WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO? We are inspired by a lot of bands like SODOM, SLAYER, KREATOR, VENOM, BURZUM, DARK THRONE, RAZOR, HELLHAMMER, and many more. Everybody in our band has other faves which have also influences on our music. And that’s the DESASTER – music. I think we have found our own typical style which we always continue. For my person I love bands like SODOM, KREATOR, ANGEL DUST, SLAYER, IRON MAIDEN, RAZOR, SABBATH, LIVING DEATH, VENOM, CELTIC FROST, ASPHYX, MASSACRE, WASP, SAXON, old METALLICA, BATHORY, MANOWAR, ANCIENT RITES, PENTACLE, OCCULT, METALLUCIFER, DEATH, OZZY, and a lot more. Metal is my life and so I love a lot of bands. I hear music in every free time. And with the other guys of DESASTER is the same. 6.WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT OTHER GERMAN BANDS IN THE DEATH/ THRASH/ BLACK METAL SCENE? TELL SOMETHING ABOUT THEM! I think that the german underground have very excellent bands. O.K. a lot of shit bands are in the scene too, but when the time has come they whimp out and nobody will remember their names. ATANATOS, MENHIR, IMPENDING DOOM, LUNAR AURORA, SECRETS OF THE MOON, MAYHEMIC TRUTH, UNGOD... these are great names of the german black metal underground. They are playing great metal and are absolutely 100% non-commercial. I like them very much. But also the non-black metal bands like WITHCBURNER (great german thrash metal in the old way), CRYPTIC WINTERMOON (Atmospheric, "romantic" metal) Releases |
and STAHLTRÄGER (new thrash metal with and old touch, by the way, this is the new band of the ex-SODOM/ LIVING DEATH/ VIOLENT FORCE drummer ATOMIC STEIFF!!) are great bands and I respect them very much.S 7.CAN YOU TELL ME SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE WRITER AND YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE AND WHY DO YOU LIKE THEM? Oh shit!!! I’m the false one for this theme!!! I don’t like to read books. I’m very lazy in that" And so I have no favorite writer. My favorite movie was "BRAVEHEART" because I think that this is one of the best movies, ever. This shootings from the nature and the fight-scenes are really great. And I like Scotland very much. It’s a very beautiful country. 8.DO YOU FOLLOW ANY RELIGION OR PHILOSOPHY IN PARTICULAR? Unfortunately, I can only talk for myself. I wouldn’t say that I’m a Satanist or something else, because I don’t know enough about these themes. I think when anybody say that he is a Satanist or something else, he must know a lot of stuff about it. I said it before. I’m to lazy to read, I don’t like it. I only want to hear music and drink a lot of beer!! 9.DO YOU KNOW ANY COLOMBIAN BANDS AND WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE COLOMBIAN SCENE? Sorry, but I don’t know any Colombian bands, but I hope to read a lot of stuff in your zine!!! 10.THANK FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ANSWER THIS INTERVIEW, PLEAS INFORMATE US ABOUT THE DESASTER PLANS FOR THE FUTURE AND YOUR MERCHANDISE!!! We hope to release the new album at the end of September. But I told it at the beginning of this interview. After the recordings we want to play a lot of gigs in Germany and other countries.
