NEFAS
was born in 1995 after the meeting of Tom Pagotto(drum) and
Dario Pagotto(guitars and back-voc.) with Fabio
Coviello(bass and vocals).The line-up never changed and
never found more members. The band approached to the extreme
scene through a fast swedish-style death metal (as bands
such as old Grave, Dismember, Crematory, Putrefaction,
Hetshead, Liers in Wait...) and after two years NEFAS
produced the debut demo tape "He was born"(1997) with the
cover artwork drawn by Paolo Parente and an 'incantationesque'
music touch. The demo immediately started collecting good
reviews (from Headfucker, Corpse Gristle, Brutalized . . .)
and was distributed worldwide through Morbid, FullMoon,
Brutalized, Wild Rags, Fadeless etc. The tecnical and
extremistic growth of the band brought NEFAS to a twist,
intricated and more cruel attitude and brutal playing-style,
and to the debut MCD "Transfiguration to the Ancients form"
(1999), produced with the collaboration of Michele Toscan of
Nuclear Abominations rec.(once again with the cover arwork
by Paolo Parente). An hyperfast obscure and asphyxianting
brutalic sound joined with lirics imagined as hymns
concerning the cult of Ancient abysmal Babylonian and
Sumerian deities of the underworld, that's the new way the
band chose for his music! NEFAS found supporter and
distributors all around the world (Relapse, Bones Brigade,
Razorback, Displeased, Uxicon, Cudge Agency, Headfucker,
Bruchstein, Shindy, Obscene,…)devoted itself to an intense
livelife, with tons of gig played with the most extreme
italian bands (like Mind Snare, Bastard Saints, Awful,
Braiwash, Morbus, Dysmorfic…) with the mexicans DISGORGE,
with the dutch CENTURIAN in Belgium and, in 2001, a small
summer european tour (playing also at Brutal Assault
Festival #6 in Czec Republik) with the friends Bastard
Saints for the promotion of their new split MCD , "Ropes
above an Abyss of Fury" released for the italian new born
label 'the FLOOD Rec.' also organizing some german gigs with
PURGATORY. At the beginning of the year 2002 NEFAS found a
wonderful deal with the french BONES BRIGADE, well known
European label devoted to the extremest way of grind and
brutal death! The band recorded the first full CD "SEVEN
TIMES SEVEN" during the spring-summer 2002 in the Avatara
Studios, with Tom (drummer of the band) as sound engeneer.
The CD, with the cover paint and artwork design by Tomasz "GRAAL"Danilovicz,
is the new concept concerning the sumerian-babylonian
apocalyptic myth, connected with the prophecy of a God-demonologic
new era.
In october 2002 NEFAS toured Poland for the "Grind Manifesto
2002", together with ANTIGAMA, PIGNATION and BASTARD SAINTS.
Finally in April 2003 the SEVEN TIMES SEVEN came out, and
the worldwide opinion was really amazing; The distribution
of BONES BRIGADE brought the CD all around the world, from
Canada to Japan, from USA to Scottland, from Brasil to
Australia;
The 2003 saw NEFAS engaged in live promotion, playing across
Iatlya together with Corpse Fucking Art, Bastard Saints,
Cadaveric Crematorium, etc.
For the end of 2003 NEFAS toured Italy together with the
mighty DESTROYER 666, HANDFUL OF HATE and VII ARCANO.
